This was taken the first time we visited the beach after our trip. It was a bit chilly so we did not stay too long. As you can see, the little man is not wearing a jacket here. No matter how cold it gets, he refuses to wear a jacket which prevents us from ever staying on the beach longer on cold months because I am afraid he will get sick. He had a pretty good time that day that every time he remembers the beach he puts his jeans, socks, and shoes on and tells me we have to go. The beach was deserted at the time because of the cold temperature and we like it that way. We plan to go back again as the temperature gets warmer especially now that we don’t have to stop the little man from messing with other kids’ toys. He just looks at the toys and then goes on like he has more important things to do. I love stress free days.

While the husband and I were visiting his relatives, we also looked around for properties we might be interested to rent or buy (crosses fingers here). We drove by the real state office where he rented a house once but it was closed so we weren’t able to inquire. We did check a HUD house which was for sale to anybody who is interested. It works by making a bid on a foreclosed property and the good thing is you can even bid lower than the set price the longer the property sets in the market. So anyway, we went to check the place out. It had a double-wide (which needs a little TLC) and a decent enough yard for a garden. And it is near his siblings’ and mother’s house. While I will not say it is a steal, it is actually cheap when we used mortgage calculator to know how much it will cost to buy the house. The reason for my indecision is that the house needs a little work which means should we (and if we could afford to) buy it, we need to spend money to make it decent enough for the husband and I and safe enough for the little man. Of course, there is also the question of will we be able to keep on paying the mortgage. As it is, we are keeping our eyes open for more deals. Hopefully our endeavors will pay off in the long run.

We went to the beach today like I promised myself when we were coped up in that motel room a few days ago. It showered on and off but it did not stop us from going. The beach was beautiful and there were not that many people around despite all the vehicles that were park on the side of the road and on designated parking areas. I do not know where all the people went. We walked for a while, and let the little man run, which was very relaxing. The husband kept on commenting about how the breeze smells so good. I felt good just being at the beach for a few minutes. The husband forgot to pay for parking and we had to head out earlier than we wanted. Fortunately, he did not get a ticket but he did leave a fee good for an hour. We wanted to stay longer but the little man had had enough so we left. I took a few pictures which I will be sharing in this blog once I get it loaded on my computer. It is mostly of the little man though who kept on saying “cheese” every time he saw the camera was on. It is nice to be back home.

Yes, we are. And I am so relieved. And happy. And thankful. The husband felt better enough to drive so we headed for home around noon yesterday. We had a safe trip and no incidence of motion sickness at all. The little man might have known we were nearing home because he started being jovial, singing and talking and eating. I now am a firm believer of the saying there’s no place like home no matter how cliche it is. Our mailbox was full. The husband was not happy when he saw our mailbox open and one of his important mails had been opened and taped up I guess to make it look like it has never been opened at all. Nothing was taken but I think somebody wanted to know what was in the envelope, for what reason we do not and might never know. I just hope it will not happen again or I will never be able to trust that our mailbox is safe. Anyway, we have a lot of things to do today. Or I do. Laundry has piled up and I need to clean inside and outside the house. I will also have to go grocery shopping because we I need food. It is a beautiful weekend :D

It is the first time I have heard of it, and somehow it reminds me of a camp fire only in a more elaborate way, but given the choice I don’t think I would want to have outdoor fireplaces should I have the chance to own a house with a decent space for a yard. They look charming and all but I would rather have an outdoor kitchen to cook my smelly concoctions. It will serve me better, that one. Although it does sound fancy to have an outdoor fireplace and the kids will surely love it. Forgive my blabbering but I just read and looked at images of outdoor fireplaces and I feel I have my two cents worth about the topic :D Sorry, I can’t help it. Anyway, what is your take on the subject? Would you like to have an outdoor fireplace if money is not an option? Or would you rather have an outdoor kitchen?

The little man is getting bored being coped up in a motel room in a strange place. He started to aggravate me earlier by running inside the room doing everything he can to make noise which he knows is one thing he is not allowed to do. He even turned the television off several times, opened (and left it open) the refrigerator door to check a virtually empty fridge, investigated the bathroom, looked outside the window by hanging on to the curtains (thank goodness motels don’t use blinds) and tried to open the door. I had to turn all lights out and made him lie down between the husband and I in bed so he will settle down. He is taking his nap right now and I am hoping he will sleep through the night and spare me from aggravation especially now that I am basically starving. I have not eaten lunch and it is well past dinner time but there is no way for me to go out what with the husband ill. I do have bread here to munch on but I found it not sufficient enough. I will wait for a while and hope the husband will be well enough to get up to get me food. If only there is a restaurant nearby I would gladly walk but there isn’t. Such is my luck, lol. Well, I always believe things happen for a reason. This might be a good one :D

Yes, we are. I thought that this time we will only be about a couple hours from home. It is not happening. We are still in a motel because the husband is so sick he can’t drive. The little man and I are a lot better than yesterday but it is now the husband who is sick. We decided this morning to stay one more day and hope the stomach bug which is making him miserable will go through him real quick so we can head home. This is something we have not been counting on to happen. But it did and so we are stuck for the day. Luckily, the motel offers free breakfast so we did not have to go anywhere to eat. We have food for the little man which is another good thing. I hope the husband will feel better so we can go home. Being stranded is not fun at all.

So much. I want to go the beach and stay there for hours if I can. Even if I have to share it with a lot of people. I miss the sound of the crashing waves. The sight of sunning seagulls and pigeons. The people picking up shells for souvenirs. The smell. Everything. So what is stopping me to go to the beach? Distance. We are not home right now. Although we will be in a few hours. I am so looking forward to that. I love being where we were at for the last few days but there is nothing better than being home and just lazing around without anywhere to go. We were able to do what we set out to do so in a way the trip was worth it. Although if I am being honest I did not help much :D Will post more when I get to more secure connection.
