Island Girl

One of the kids in the husband’s side of the family graduated from high school this year. He had several scholarship offers which made his parents proud. He is the baby of the family and he is doing well in school. Before his graduation his mom sent us pictures of his senior prom where he looked good wearing a tuxedo shirt. I must say he carried the dress well. I know he must be uncomfortable though being a teenager wearing formal clothes but it was only a few hours and I am sure he had a good time during the party. It is nice to see kids doing good academically. There are only a few who prioritizes school. I hope he will continue to be a good person and finish school to make his parents proud. We hope for the little man to do good in school too.

The other day, the stepson came over to get the stuff his mother sent for him. The bag contained a new phone, a few baby clothes, and pictures. The pictures were taken when their mom visited a few months ago. She paid for the pictures which were taken by a professional photographer. The pictures were so clear and of good quality and I think it was worth the money they spent. I heard the kids complaining about how expensive a copy was and now I know why. It was not taken by a Naples photographer being we live in the south but I am still impressed. I have never seen pictures that came out like the ones they got. I might consider having a photo session in the future when the husband is ready for it. I would like to have a family picture and it won’t hurt if all of us looks like a million dollars.

I finally succumb to the use of appetite suppresant. Yes, I did it and I started three days ago. I let the husband know about it and he said if I don’t feel good to stop using it at once. I promised I would. It is not something that promised I would lose weight instantly. No. In fact, the label plainly said that it will help curb appetite, and will help me lose weight if I do work out too. The weight loss should be gradual. I just need something to help me stop eating too much. As you may well know, I can’t do that on my own and I need help. I am back to doing my exercise routine as well. Hopefully this will work. I am putting hard work in here y’all so it has to work. Seriously, I do hope it will work. I am not stepping on a weighing scale until I notice any change on my weight. I aim to lose at least ten pounds. Should it not work on me, there is nothing I can do, lol. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Ever since we moved down South, we have lived on apartments. We are on our second “home” right now and we are planning on moving somewhere else. Don’t get me wrong, we don’t transfer from one place to the next every few months. We did stay two months short of two years on the first apartment and now we are on our second year in this current address. This time though we plan on hopefully buying our own place. But we can’t decide for sure where we want to live. We are torn between what our heart desire and what our mind tell us to do. This will be a permanent one so we have to make the right choice. Isn’t it a bit stressful? And we have to think about taxes and home insurance and the money to buy the house which is the most important factor. I hope our plans will come true. We hope things will work out fine if we will continue praying and working for it. One thing the husband and I agreed on, the new house should have two bathrooms or we will not buy it at all

We went for an early morning walk at the beach today and I loved it. It has been so long since I went to the beach in the early morning and I did not realize I missed it until this morning. The warm breeze, the smell of seawater, the scarcity of people, and the tranquility of the water. It was awesome! The little man was in his best behavior which added to my happiness. Yes, I was happy. I did not complain nor did I grumble. It did not matter that the husband practically drag me out of bed, I told him to do it anyway. He went to wake me up several times until I was ready to get up. I am glad I did go with them. The little man and I walked while the husband who was sitting on a bench looked on. I hope to have more mornings like this if only gas is not that expensive. I will settle for once a week

I am not vain but like any normal female, I like to use skin care products to make me look good. I have dry skin so I need body lotion which I use on a daily basis. My face tends to get sunburned when I stay outdoors for long periods of time so I use face cream to help moisturize and to avoid wrinkles. I use hand lotion too from time to time to protect my hands from being too dry after washing dishes. These are just some of the products I use and is part of my daily routine. I don’t use make up or anything of the like. I told the husband he sure is lucky I am low maintenance, lol. I am not after expensive brands as long as it works and I don’t get rashes I am fine with it. There is nothing better than having healthy skin and I am proud to show it off sometimes.

As a precaution, before I try anything may it be food or a new product, I always have to see it first hand or read reviews before I even decide to buy it. It is me looking after my welfare and the husband’s hard earned money. I am not the type to try something before anybody else has tried it. It saves me money and disappointment at the same time. That is why I am currently reading weight loss pill reviews online. I have been at it for weeks now because I am getting ready to buy weight loss pills when I have the money. I have talked to the husband about it and he said it is all up to me. He will support me whatever I decide to do. He said as long as I am happy about what I am doing. It is taking time because there are different reviews good or bad. You know what works for others might not for some. That is why I am weighing my choices. Hopefully by the end of the month I will come up with a decision.

Yesterday, the husband sold his prized 1987 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. I know it pained him to do so but we need the money. We were not sure if it will sell quick given the fact it was an old car but a few minutes after I posted it on Craigslist, people started calling asking for directions where they can take a look at it. While he was cutting a deal with a couple another person came and offered him seven hundred dollars more than we were asking, in cold cash! The husband being a good person said he already cut a deal with the couple and was sorry to let the man go empty handed. He gave the jeep to the couple who paid him two hundred dollars less than the asking price and did not have the cash. Friends he talked to said he should have accepted the deal where he will make more money but for him it was a matter of keeping his word. It may make other people scoff at him but as I said he is a good person. He keeps his word. His only hope is that the couple will take good care of the car. Now we are left with one car (we loaned another jeep to the stepson’s wife) with a bad transmission, lol. We may have to have it fixed before long to make the long trip back where home is.
