The husband called his son (he finally moved out and is living with his wife in an apartment of their own) to help him with the lawn mower. I told him I can do the mowing but since the mower had sit all winter he needed his son to check on it and make sure it works good. Because of the husband’s injury, he can’t do the things he normally did before the incident. Hence, the call to his son for help. He called him several days ago and he finally made it this evening. Did I mention he only lives about five minutes away? Anyway, the mower worked good and he did mow the back yard a little since it was already dark. I can finish mowing the yard tomorrow now that we know the lawn mower works good. I know the husband hated having to call any of his kids for help but I can only do so much. And they do help when they are ready

18 Mar 2009 / books, paperbacks, tagalog pocketbooks
I rented a few Tagalog pocketbooks from a friend in North Carolina. I enjoyed reading the books and after two weeks I returned it today. I mailed it today along with the books I owned which I am selling to her instead of having the books sit here to accommodate dust. I earn at the same time too
Pity the box was not that big so I promised I will send the rest of the books I am willing to sell on the next mail. I am planning on renting more pocketbooks from her soon even though I have lots of unread English paperbacks sitting in the closet. I am addicted! A friend from Manila promised me she will send more pocketbooks for me in the coming weeks. She bought the books and I only have to pay for shipping. How cool is that? It pays to have good friends, really

08 Mar 2009 / car accident
The stepson’s wife and his mother got into a car accident yesterday. Apparently, some dope-head college kid (with friends) ran a red light and rammed into the jeep that she was driving while she was stopped. It might have been a blessing she was stopped because it lessened the impact but she still had to be brought to the hospital because she was crying so hard worried for her baby. Yes, she is pregnant. It took the doctor a long time to find the baby’s heartbeat probably because the mother panicked and she was jolted pretty hard if the jeep was any indication. I took a lot of pictures per the husband’s instructions. Bad. That jeep is very dear to the husband. We have bought and sold three nice convertibles but he keeps the jeep because he said he already spent so much time and money fixing it and it is a four wheel drive and he loves it better than any other cars we have. He let his daughter-in-law use it because she does not have her own car. And this has happened. Thankfully she is fine now and so is the baby. And the car was insured. I hope they will let those kids pay for all the damage and trauma she went through. I know it is mean but some people need to learn the hard way. The reason the offending driver told the police was that his breaks did not work but to all present in the altercation it was apparent that the kid was high. The husband told me this is one of the reasons he does not want me driving yet. It is crazy here in the south sometimes. There are a lot of irresponsible drivers and to prove his point, on our way to the accident site, we passed another road accident with a bunch of college kids involved. Traffic was literally stopped. Kids! When are they going to learn that they are not invincible?
