Bubby is now into climbing up on everything. I had to make hubby bring the box which contained DVD’s to put in one of the closets because bubby would climb on top of it and then stay in there while watching his favorite television shows. How scary is that? No amount of talking and making him get down worked. He would wait for only a few minutes and he is back on top. He fell several times and would stay away for a while but I guess when the pain wores off he is back again. It made me frustrated but I couldn’t lift the thing, it was too heavy for me. I hate to see him fall and hurt himself but he just wouldn’t quit. He even climbed on dada’s chair and played with his toy. Why he couldn’t do that on the floor, I don’t know. He is into experimenting again. My decision to cut my time from the computer (will only have to do my stuff when he is napping) really is a good thing or else I don’t know what he’s gonna do. Kids! He acts like he doesn’t need me sometimes but when he is hurt he runs to me and whine
He really is funny sometimes. I guess he just wants to learn things his way. Mama will just have to stay in the background and let him know he can run to me when he needs something.

my little farmer
Comments Off28 Feb 2008 / UncategorizedA few weeks ago, hubby started tilling the yard for a garden. He has always wanted to have one. In fact, even when we were in an apartment complex we had tomatoes growing on pots. The main reason why we moved to this place is because of the yard. Now that spring is almost here, he already has a small garden in the backyard. It has turnips, tomatoes, cabbage, radishes and of course lemon grass. He also has some cucumber seeds scattered somewhere near the fence. Prior to that though, he had to clean the backyard because it was nasty. I must admit hubby did a pretty good job. The yard now looks really good. I am sure the grass will be green and plenty on springtime. As for the garden, I will help him take care of it. I love to garden too. I love tomatoes.
Of course, if dada is out in the yard, junior (as he calls bubby sometimes) has to be in there too. Bubby just ran around and explore. He tried to help dada dig the land but that wasn’t safe so we had to divert his attention from it. The rake proved to be a good diversionary tactic
He didn’t let it go until we were ready to go in.Here are some pictures I took at different time we were in the backyard.

he wouldn’t leave dada’s garden alone so dada gave him the rake
stepped on dada’s new plants..poor garden..

toy laptop or play slide?
Comments Off26 Feb 2008 / UncategorizedI have written often enough how my son is so fascinated with the computer. He loves to move the mouse and look at the screen and see what happens. Or press the keyboard to know what it can do. Hubby forgot to put the keyboard up this evening that when he remembered he ran to the computer table to put it up but bubby already had it on the floor and was stepping on it while looking at the screen. Now that would have been a sight to behold but mama was in the room doing something. I only heard the story from dada. Anyways, that is not what this entry is about. Forgive me but I seem to get carried away when I talk about my son.
The last few days I have been thinking of getting bubby a toy laptop so he will have his own computer to mess around with. There was one I found at J.C. Penney but it was bilingual, English and Mexican. He already is bilingual (the fact that I am Filipino) and I talk to him in English and Filipino and sometimes the dialects that I know of. I am afraid it is gonna slow down his ability to talk. He is trying to right now but he can only say a few words and sometimes I have to prompt him. I don’t even know what language he is using when he tries to talk sometimes. And putting Mexican in the mix isn’t really a good idea right now. Maybe when he is a little older he can study it but not right now. There are other laptops on other stores but bubby doesn’t fit the age range yet. I don’t know whether to get him one or not yet.
There is another option. Maybe a play slide will be good. It will surely be nice for him especially when it gets warm and we can play in the yard. I have been looking for a play slide and swing set online but they are expensive. More than a hundred bucks for a piece of plastic.
Of course he can play with it for a while but man, I still think it is expensive. Looking at Craigslist isn’t doing any good either. Now I am confused as to what I will get. Maybe both? Or wait a few more months? Maybe dada will help. What do you think?

driving a convertible
Comments Off22 Feb 2008 / Uncategorized

A few weekends ago hubby fixed his son’s Sebring convertible. Actually hubby bought that convertible and gave it to him so when he goes to college he will have something decent to drive. Not that his Firebird isn’t nice. I like the Firebird better but the kid likes the convertible, so it is his choice. While hubby was making the finishing touches to the car I vacuumed the SUV because it looked nasty to me what with all the sand and trash. Bubby was in his stroller then but he got bored and started whining so dada took him and put him in the car to play. Bubby had a good time in front of the wheel. He pressed and turned every button and knob he could find. Pressed the horn several times that I was afraid the neighbors will get mad at us
I took a lot of pictures but I am going to share only two to you all. It was a bit chilly so he had his jacket on. My boy is really growing fast. It won’t be long and he will go to school and mama will be left at home
It seems like he also loves cars, at least the wheels. He loves to play with his toy cars and mess with the wheels all the time. He even would take the computer chair away from me and play with its wheels
Another car aficionado in the family? -
a very good morning
Comments Off19 Feb 2008 / UncategorizedI don’t know why but I just feel like this is a good morning even if dada woke me up early to fix his lunch. The sun is up, it looks pretty outside. And my son, after that episode last night, is still in bed sleeping soundly. This is one of the rare times he oversleeps. He usually gets up at about six am when dada gets ups from bed. I hope he will be good the whole day just like yesterday. When I told hubby that his son was really good the whole day yesterday and he only started getting restless when he got home, he laughed and sounded defensive when he countered, You blame it on me? Lol. I know it was mean of me to say it but hubby’s reaction was cute when I said that. He actually blames me when bubby starts getting hard to handle, blames it on my side of the family
I hope the rest of the day will be good for me and the rest of my readers if there is any at all

little terror
Comments OffIt was chaos earlier in our house. Bubby as usual is full of energy. He was really good the whole day. No complaints from mama. But when dada got home that’s when it all started. He greeted dada in the door while calling his name. After he got his kisses he started to mess with the canned foods. He left it alone for days that I thought he might have been over it. I guess not. He ran around the house with a different can each time. Dropped some of them on the floor with a sickening thud. He wouldn’t stop so I decided to turn off all the lights. It was dark with only the computer monitor and the television illuminating the living room. It was a mistake on my part because then he noticed the tv. He played with the buttons while dada was trying to look for the news channel. Hubby was annoyed because one click with the remote and bubby matched it with five. It was a tug of war. I was on the floor on my knees picking bubby’s toys up so he won’t trip on ‘em. Dada tried to stop bubby but he wouldn’t listen so he called me for help. I got bubby away from the television and dada was able to find his channel. The bad thing was bubby now noticed the pc monitor and with all the blinking lights was drawn to it like a bug. He actually turned off the internet on me. I had to put him on the playpen because he wouldn’t stop. He was fine with it though. He knows that he did something wrong and I told him that. He usually screams when I put him on his corner but if he knows that he did something he wasn’t supposed to, he is just quite. I guess it was fun to terrorize mama and dada. I realize the reason why he is good with me around is because he knows that when I say no I mean it. With dada all he has to do is scream or cry and he gets what he wants. Time to really have a serious talk before this gets worse.

ordinary day
Comments Off18 Feb 2008 / UncategorizedIt is another uneventful day here in South Carolina. Same old, same old they say. I am still a hundred pounds, bubby still is taking naps during the day only shorter now. Hubby is at work and stepson is at a junkyard to presumably look for a part (bling I guess?) for his car. I gave him money thru hubby’s request to buy for it. He gives part of his earnings to hubby and would ask if he needs to use it for anything. Dada is his safe-keeper while I am dada’s safe-keeper lol. Anyways, bubby is already up. He has only been asleep two hours and 30 minutes. I hope he will go back to sleep. He really needs it since he wakes up even before we do. I guess not, he is already calling for me. I may have to get away from the computer and play with him or just watch him play. If not he terrorizes me and the pc. He sure knows how to get mama’s attention now. He is my little helper. My clown. My life (sama si dada of course). Sometimes he gets really annoying not listening to mama when he’s supposed to but most of the time he is a sweet child. I am sure hubby will say where do you find sweetness in that little boy? He is tough, lol. He is too. Sometimes he is rough. Being a toddler isn’t easy I guess. He had a few cans stacked up earlier but when one fell he wasn’ happy with it he whined. I thought there was something wrong. He kept on doing it though. Persistent huh? He just have to learn that sometimes it takes time to get things done right.
I am bored, again. Maybe I should just read a book and let the day go by. Hubby will be here in a few hours. Sometimes monotonous things makes me feel like I should do something else but I can’t. I don’t have any regrets though. I love my family. If I do something else I probably would be wanting to have this life I am living right now. We can’t have the best of both worlds but we sure can enjoy and be grateful with what we have. Especially if that means being with hubby and bubby. I am blesse. I shouldn’t be feeling bored or anything. I guess it has something to do with not having any tasks to write about lol.
