  • 27 Nov 2007 /  movie, reaction, tap dancing, toddler

    I was watching Happy Feet yesterday while Joseph was on the playpen messing with his toys. I was so engrossed on the movie that I was surprised when I heard bubby laugh. A real laugh! I looked at him to check what he was doing and what do you know? He was watching the movie too. I thought he wasn’t interested because I made him sit on my lap when the movie started but he fidgeted a lot so I put him on the pen.

    It was amazing the way he reacted to the penguin tap dancing. I guess he can relate because he likes to stamp his feet on the kitchen floor too. He even would want me to do it for him. He likes the sound of bare feet on tiled concrete. He does it everyday. I give him an empty box too so he can step on it and enjoy the noise.

    My baby really is growing up and fast too. He was very still while watching and didn’t even looked at me when I looked at him. He has this habit of standing up when watching something on television. It frustrates me sometimes because we bought him a chair specifically for that. He sits sometimes alright, but beside the chair. If I put him in there, he would get up once I leave him aone and would stand until whatever caught his attention on tv is done.

    Thanks to jerlalou for this tag. She’s had this for a few days now but I only got the time to do it today. I don’t have much on my wallet, almost everything is in my purse but let me see. What I have in my wallet are:

    * a 2×2 pic of me when i had my hair cut really short (paul has the other pic)

    * paul’s pic when he was 8 years old

    * joseph’s passport photo

    * my brother jay’s passport photo

    * my permanent resident card

    * 2 debit cards

    * 1 credit card

    * social security card ( here and PI )

    * beginner’s permit id

    * a few 1 dollar bill

    * a hundred dollar bill i took from hubby ;)

    * bank receipts

    * a few philippine peso bills

    * filipino store ad i cut from the local paper

    * my OB’s calling card

    * and a few more store receipts which i still have to go through before i throw ‘em away

    See, I don’t have much in my wallet. Now if it was my purse it would have been another story. It’s got everything in it even toys :D

    I want to forward this tag to everybody on my blogroll. Take it girls!

  • 19 Nov 2007 /  family, fun, walking

    We went to the beach yesterday to practice driving and to walk. I had a good time behind the wheel. Paul said he don’t feel very nervous anymore when I’m driving which he said is an improvement. :D And the amazing thing too, Josh now sleeps soundly when I’m driving. Now, that I consider an improvement! He used to whine and fidget when he sees me behind the wheel. I think he feels nervous too. But since Saturday he has been a good passenger.

    After the driving lesson we went walking. We let bubby play on the sand. He loves to touch and dug a little hole on it. He also tried to dash to the water but dada was quick enough to know bubby’s intention. He even tried to fool dada into believing he just wanted to play and when he thought dada wasn’t looking, ran to the water. Of course we knew he was gonna do that so he was well guarded. We put him back on his stroller and started brisk walking. Josh didn’t like it and was whining all the way.

    Halfway back, Paul spotted something on one of the tidal pools. He went closer to investigate. And what do you know, there was a big fish swimming in there! He wanted to catch the fish but we didn’t have any fishing gears. Plus too, the water was cold. After a few seconds of watching the fish ( yeah, that fast :D ) he decided to wade in the tidal pool. I told him he was crazy but there’s no stopping him. Took his shoes off, rolled his jeans and jacket, and off he went.

    What happened after was deemed hilarious by bubby. He started laughing so hard he forgot he wasn’t happy being strapped in his stroller. I didn’t know where to look, at hubby who was trying to catch the fish bear-style ( he said ) or at bubby’s laughing face. They both looked cute. I was so noisy screaming and laughing.

    Dada did catch the poor fish. He asked me if I want to keep it. It was a good two feet and probably three to four pounds. But I said no. I didn’t know what it was. I mean, sure it was fish from the ocean but I wasn’t familiar with it. We decided to let it go.

    Josh was good after that. He had his share of the excitement. It was a fun morning. The bad thing though, it happened just when I left the camera at home.

  • 18 Nov 2007 /  tag

     Thanks to my cyberfriend garf for this one. I love this kind of tag :D

    1. How long have you been blogging?

    A year? I started blogging on friendster. It’s only a few weeks ago that I tried to do blogging on another site. I was naive. I didn’t know I can have my own blog for free aside from my account at friendster. Now my blog there sets dormant while I juggle between two blogs and a half. :)

    2. What inspired you to start a blog and who are your mentors?

    I’ve always wanted to have a blog. It’s like having my own public diary where I can write whatever I fancy. I had the idea from somebody on a forum I was a member of. That website has closed now though.

    3. Are you trying to make money online, or just doing it for fun?

    I am doing for both (still waiting for the former though). Who wouldn’t want to have fun and earn money at the same time?

    4. Tell me 3 things you love about being online.

    Write the things I want. Meet lots of people. The probability to earn bucks! :)

    5. Tell me 3 things you struggle within the online world.

    Things to write (even if i’m not a writer i do get writer’s block). How to make my blog look good. I have a son so being online is not a priority.

    I want to pass this tag to jerlalou, charidoy, and other girls who want to grab this.

    We all have cold. I feel bad. I hate it when I’m sick because I know I’m gonna share it with my men. Good thing Josh is not complaining about it, yet. I sure do hope that he’s gonna get better fast. I guess I’m lucky that when bubby gets sick he is not like me who complains about it a lot, or else that will be doubly hard for me. He is like dada, they just keep on like it’s a normal day. I am different because I complain. When Paul asked me why, I said complaining makes me feel a little better. I know I’m a nut. Lol.

  • 14 Nov 2007 /  haircut

    We’ve been thinking of cutting bubby’s hair since it’s gotten too long. It’s his first too. So when Paul got home he grabbed the clippers, a scissor and a comb. Placed bubby on his highchair and started cutting his hair. It wasn’t easy though. Bubby squirmed, tried to get a hold of the clipper, put his hands on his head, that hubby and I argued on what to do. It was almost chaos :D

    I think we did good but we could’ve done better. It’s just that Josh started screaming and we got nervous so we had to end it. He looks good though. I am gonna post pics when I download the pictures I took earlier.

    Josh has this habit of screaming when he gets frustrated over something. He can be playing with his toys and he if he wants to put the toy on top of something and it won’t stay, he whines at first. He tries to do it over and over again and the whine becomes a shout and then a long screeching scream that whoever hears him will think he’s hurt or something.

    That’s what happened a while ago. Josh was playing with his sippy cup on the kitchen. He puts it in the drawer but when he wanted to take it, it was stuck. He kept on trying to get it but to no avail. He screamed so hard that hubby who was lying on the couch watching television got up and run to the kitchen thinking that bubby might have fallen or hurt himself.

    I know I was supposed to feel sorry for dada but I started laughing. I am used to Josh doing that that I didn’t mind. I know when he is hurt because he always run to mama crying. I forgot that dada is always at work that he seldom see or hear bubby like that. Because when he’s at home my son tries to be at his best to impress dada. He is really a character and though it gets me mad sometimes, I love him for it. It makes the boredom go away and there’s always something new to tell Paul when he gets home.
