While most mothers were bragging on Facebook about what they got on Mother’s Day I kept my mouth shut. Not that the husband did not give me a present, in fact it was that particular present that made me decide to keep quiet. You ask why? Because it depressed me. And to gripe about it means I am being a bad daughter. You see, the husband gave me cash to spend however I wanted. He gave me two hundred dollars to be specific. I was happy and was already thinking of ways to spend it when I remembered that my parents told me they were running low on their prescription meds. What does a daughter do when her parents need money? She gives. That is why I did not have anything to show or brag about. I could post what I did on Facebook but I have a lot of friends and relatives there who know my parents who might misinterpret so I opted not to. I guess I will have to wait for the next especial holiday to finally be able to buy me something special.

A couple months ago, we went to Disney. While it had been talked about for years, we have not really planned on actually doing it. In fact, it was not on our itinerary when we went to Florida. We went because we wanted a change in scenery and we wanted to do something else other than sitting at home and waiting the day go by. So when the husband got up one day during our stay and said to get ready because we were going to the theme park I was surprised. I shouldn’t have been knowing how fickle my husband is, lol. Anyway, so we went to Disney and had a good time albeit I got annoyed at him because he wanted me and the little man to wear our personalized name tags that the cashier gave at the entrance. If there is one thing I do not like is to out on anything like that. I wouldn’t have minded if it was work-related name tags with logo because I get paid while doing it but to wear something silly is ridiculous. Apparently the little man shared my opinion, for about thirty minutes anyway lol. It was a fun experience that I will not mind repeating but it will have to be on another theme park so it will be something different. Perhaps next trip.

Mother’s day is fast approaching. I know what this means to me, presents. Or at least, a present. From the husband. Because it is a special day for me. And I always milk it for what it is worth, lol. Don’t blame me, I do not buy stuff for myself regularly so I get to <del>demand</del> ask what I want (if I want to) on special occasions. Problem is, I do not know what to ask. Or what hint to give him so he can get it for me. I am tired of purses (I think). I sure do not want shoes because I have made up my mind to use what I have here at home. Food, I can get every time I go to the grocery store. Electronic maybe? But it is too expensive for mother’s day. That is appropriate for birthdays and Christmas, not on Mother’s Day. I wonder what to “want”? I sure am in a bind this time. But do not fret, it will come to me. In time.

Our house does not have a regular house number plaque. The husband and I have discussed about buying one but we could not decide on the designs of the house numbers plaques we have seen yet. We both agree is has to be something affordable yet elegant looking. For now we have something tacky on our door, he wrote the house number on the top trim of the storm door so people (mainly the mail man) will see it. He said it has to be corrected pretty soon because he does not like looking at it. I bet he doesn’t, lol. I know we will eventually have to decide on one design soon. I just don’t know when.

I gave the husband a haircut. Or to be precise, he ordered me to give him a haircut. He refuses to go to the salon anymore because most of the time the hairstylist does not know what to do with his hair. Either that or they just refuse to cut his hair the way he wants. So he decided we can do it at home and his poor wife will have to do it. Hah! I cannot tell you how stressful it is to cut somebody’s hair. If you think not, then you are a very brave person. I am not. I am always afraid I will make a bad move then his hair will be botched up.But he said he does not care because we can always just buzz his hair should it come to that. That should make me feel better? No! I started cutting his hair since last year and every time I do it it is like the first time. He told me to relax and that I am doing a good job (which I am most of the time), I just can’t help worrying. To make it easier for me, he bought a new set of hair clippers for me to use and I must admit this new thing with all kinds of attachments one can hook in it is amazing. Better than what we used to have. We used it today and there was less fuss on my end and better looking haircut on his. I am actually happy to have cut his hair and that is a first, lol. I hope the new clippers will last a long time because with its attachments, it makes it easier to cut and trim the husband’s hair. I might even be better at the job next time.

The little man likes musical instruments particularly the guitar and drums. He also likes the piano a bit. He likes to play the instruments and play with them when he gets the chance. His face always lights up when he sees musical instruments so when he was surfing online and found a page that sells You Rock Guitar Guitars he was so happy. He browsed a long time, read the specs like he understood what it was about then moved on to another page. I am thankful he did not try to shop online and ask me for my credit card like he normally does when he wants something. He can browse online for musical instruments anytime he wants as long as he will just look and not want to buy them. I think I like this better than going to the store, lol.

We went to the store the other day with the plan to buy a mattress for the little man. The kids and I did not go in, we decided it will be easier for the daddy to do his shopping without us. When he got out he not only had a mattress, he also had a dining table set that two store employees were pushing in a cart. The table was not in the list but the husband claimed he felt in love with the wood work and that he was sure I would love it too so he bought the set. It is beautiful, I give him that. I also love it like he predicted. But I could have done without it. I mean, it was not on the plan so I would not have taken a look at it to begin with. I was happy with the old set we have at home. He was so happy and excited with his purchase though that it was hard not to fall in love with the table and chairs. We are already using it and I must admit it is growing on me. I am just surprised that he bought the table and chairs though because it is far different from the lodge furniture that he was admiring prior to the trip to the store. I guess a man is entitled to change his mind just like a woman is. I am afraid what he will “love” the next time he goes to the store though

If you will scroll a few post down, you will see a picture of a Coach wallet. That wallet does look good on the picture, doesn’t it? But in reality it is I think of inferior quality. I like the inside which is leather but the outside is cloth and I am not really a fan. When I saw the wallet online I instantly fell in love with it. I thought it will also be pretty in person but now I know better. Don’t get me wrong, I still like the wallet but it was very deceptive to look at. If not for the leather inside and the detachable check holder I would have regretted having the husband pay for it. Thank goodness for its saving graces, lol. I have been thinking of buying another wallet, the same style but of different design. I want it in black leather without the C’s because it drives me buggy to look at the abundance of C in my wallet. The color is pretty and I would love to have a pink leather wallet but without the C. However, I don’t think that choice is available so I will go back to my old time favorite, black leather. I will have to pay for this one because I don’t think the husband will be happy paying for two wallets in so short time interval. Now it is time to start saving.

The husband’s been urging me to go to bed. It is late, he said. We need to sleep because we will be running errands tomorrow. Well, I told him I will after I read about tropinol side effects to which he thankfully accepted. Sometimes it is hard to get him to accept a reason for my staying up late. He asks a lot of questions. Tonight is just an exception. I do need to go to bed early because I am tired but this is the only time of the day that I can be online without a lot of interruptions since the kids are already sleeping. Now, if he will just give me a few minutes I should be able to finish here so I can go to bed. If only we can afford a nanny I can probably get online during the day because somebody else will be watching the kids. But there is no nanny so mommy has to find ways to do her online things that will not interfere with her schedule with the family.

We bought a house last year. It is in the country but it is only a few minutes drive from the big city which is what we have been looking for because as much as we love the city, we do love our privacy. We thought we had a very good deal since we bought the property pretty cheap considering what was in it and its location. Until we discovered problems with it concerning the garage that was built too close to the property line, by the original owner. It wouldn’t have been a problem had the neighbor not complain but she was not happy that she did not get the property so she complained about the building and we had to tear it down. We actually paid people to do it for us because it was a job. Now the garage is gone save for the garage flooring that we were told we can leave as it is. Thankfully it is concrete so we will just use it for something else instead of busting it to pieces. Perhaps we will put in a picnic table in it complete with chairs and umbrella or maybe use it for something else entirely. At least we are legal now (have been for a while actually) and we can do anything in our property without any worries as long as we follow county regulations. I love our new place. It is so quiet and the creek behind the house and the big trees make it look pretty as a picture.
