The husband searched online for used treadmills to buy for me. I told him I need one so I could do some exercise if I cannot go to the beach alone to walk. I think I am starting to get on his nerves (lol) that was why he looked if there was any interesting deals online. I need to exercise and walking is the only thing that I know will not bore me. Even if it means stationary walk. I have a workout DVD but I don’t like to use it because it requires a lot of space and time. I figure with a treadmill all I have to do is jump in it and I should be able to sweat a little. I mean, how hard is it to walk? I am planning to get maybe herbal diet pills to take along with the physical exercise to hasten the weight loss. While browsing on Craigslist, the husband was laughing at what the sellers are saying about the treadmills and stationary bikes available. One said that his wife used it all of an hour and left it sitting afterward so he is selling the bike. He said he really hope I will not be like that or else it will be a waste of money. I think I am ready for a change in myself so I should be using that treadmill when we have it. I would hate to disappoint the husband after he agrees to my request. Now we only have to wait for a cheap treadmill to pop up somewhere.

We still are sick. We though that we were on our way to recovery but yesterday my throat started getting irritated again which made me cough and then the sneezing followed. The husband who claimed he was feeling better stayed in bed under the covers because he was cold. Only the little man did not let cough or runny nose get him down. I don’t know what is going on with us. It has been over a week! We should be back to our old healthy selves but here we are all sick still. The humidifier has been on 24/7 to help us breath good. I thought I will be able to take it outside again but with us not fully well we might have to continue using it. Good thing we have plenty of humidifier filters in handy just in case we will need to use this for the duration of the cold season. I sure hope our electric bill will not be high this month considering I have to use another appliance constantly on top of the heater which is also on all the time. Perhaps all we need is to go some place warm?

05 Feb 2010 /  bald spot, hair loss, health

I have a bald spot near my hairline. It started out with the skin getting itchy and then I started seeing white flakes and the hair eventually fell off. It is a very tiny spot but it is evident since I always brush my hair back because it is very long. The first time I noticed there was something wrong I panicked. I asked questions, I searched for reasons for hair loss, I then looked for cure which were mostly home remedies. I read that it could be stress (I am stressed most of the time) or fungus (I hope not) or just a reaction to hair care products. I did not know what to do at first but then decided to use tea tree oil for the dry affected area. The flakes were gone but the bald spot is still present. I hope the hair will grow back and replenish (is it even the right term) the spot so I will not get overly conscious about it. Because even if I tell people I am not I know in my heart I am. I am a bit vain, you know. I am female so you have to give me that. I hope this will be confined to this spot because I know I am going to freak out if it won’t. I know I have to go to a dermatologist but I am planning to do that when we visit the Philippines since I have a cousin who is a very good dermatologist. I would rather hear it from her than from a stranger.

I checked my BMI this morning to see where I am at in the health department. It showed a BMI of 22 for my weight and height. I read it is within average and any plan on losing more weight is fine as long as it will not be less than 86 (I think) pounds. I am pleased with the result because even if I did gain a lot of weight I am still not considered fat. Well, when you try not to look at the fat rolls on my stomach area, I guess. I will try to get back to doing power walks when I have time during the day. I stopped doing that for months now. I even stopped taking appetite suppressant because I was ready to embrace a fat me. Well, what do you know, I did not gain too much after that. Maybe my body is telling me I can actually lose weight just by working on it. Which means laying off on unhealthy food and starting to do some exercise. It might just work. I will let you know.

15 Jul 2009 /  diet, diet pills, health, losing weight

It had been weeks since I started using it and I am still using the diet pills that I bought from the store. I am supposed to take two a day but sometimes I forget so I only take one and at times none. That is why there are still a few left from the pack that was good for a month. It actually helped me not eat too much and at the same time feel better about myself. I know I lost weight although not much but better than gaining more every day. The husband noticed it too. The shorts that were normally very tight are now comfortable and I am loving it. I would love to lose more weight but I am not in a hurry. I can wait.

I am not vain but like any normal female, I like to use skin care products to make me look good. I have dry skin so I need body lotion which I use on a daily basis. My face tends to get sunburned when I stay outdoors for long periods of time so I use face cream to help moisturize and to avoid wrinkles. I use hand lotion too from time to time to protect my hands from being too dry after washing dishes. These are just some of the products I use and is part of my daily routine. I don’t use make up or anything of the like. I told the husband he sure is lucky I am low maintenance, lol. I am not after expensive brands as long as it works and I don’t get rashes I am fine with it. There is nothing better than having healthy skin and I am proud to show it off sometimes.

I am currently munching my lunch. I realized I don’t have cooked rice and I am too lazy hungry to wait so I decided to eat steak with, guess what, toast. The toast is from the Philippines so it is sweet with a lot of sugar and margarine in it. Eat that with cold steak ( I did not want to bother myself with heating it up) and I have an unhealthy meal. I am not proud of myself but I just thought the food might taste good together which it does if I don’t think about the glob of fat I am taking in. I seriously need to consider to evaluate my eating habit. If I want to lose weight I need to start to watch what I put in my mouth. I know, I know, I am all talk and no work. But after this, I promise to be good. I want to lose weight and take credit for it and not depend on diet supplements like Orovo. I have a long ways to go and a bad habit to break. Do you think I can make it? Sometimes I doubt myself but perhaps I can. If I care enough about my health that is.

The husband and I talked about diet again last night. Well, that was after eating each a plateful of teriyaki stir fry which he cooked. It was so good! He went all out using cut-up left-over steak and boiled shrimp to mix with the vegetables. What can we say, we love food. Anyway, he said he could not believe he did not lose weight when he thinks that his tummy is getting smaller. I laughed and he looked at me and said we look like pot-bellied pigs and laughed at his joke. He then told me to put on our list the name of the gym we were supposed to check out last weekend. We chose that particular gym because it has a day care kind thing where somebody will watch the little man while we work out. He said we have to go to the gym even if we only have to use the treadmills to get rid of a few pounds. We both are the worst procrastinators and we are paying for the result. But what I really think we should do is to cut back on food and eating out. Perhaps if we try to starve ourselves we might lose weight easy. What do you think?
